The DDK: Tronicia

Posted by Nomad Scry On June - 26 - 2008

The Gods of Tronica
reformated and revisted, again (January 18, 2002)

Oni [F] (Ah-Nee)

The mother Goddess. She is the mother of Econia, along with the being the mother of the three greater powers around whom the remaining powers congregate. She is directly in charge of power (and its uses) and the Arcane, meaning the mystical, magickal, and supernatural forces that exist in Econia.

Her children are Tuatha, Kartada and Asimonen, in order of age. Despite dealing in love and grace with their mother, the younger children constantly war among themselves, with the elder Tuatha often stepping in, in an attempt to mediate and balance things.

Manifestations: Pegasus, Beautiful Young maiden with long silvery hair.

Symbol: Pegasus

Tuatha [F] (Too-ahh)

A greater power and the eldest daughter of Oni. She is the name giver, the thinker, the vault of wisdom, and the force of moderation and balance. She was the one who named Econia, in honor to her mother. Anyone about to begin planning would do well to venerate her name and ask her counsel. She has been known to personally answer such requests.

Manifestations: Simple brown-haired Scholar, not too pretty, not ugly, young in appearance, her eyes hold a wisdom and knowledge that belie her apparent years.

Symbol: Balance/Scale

Kartada [F] (KAR-tod-ah)

A greater power, and the middle child, daughter of Oni. She resents Tuatha’s interfences, and despises Asimonen’s pretenses of order. She is the temptress, the hater, the harlot scorned, the teller of lies. She is known to curse those calling on her with horrible disfigurements, as well as known to assist in the creation of nefarious things. It appears that her temperement is related to how well she is doing against Asimonen at the time.

Manifestations: A gorgeous black-haired woman with fine features, scantily clad. One half of a cracked ruby sphere.

Symbol: Black Rose, broken circles

Asimonen [M] (Ass-ihm-On-nen)

A greater power, the youngest child of Oni, and her only son. He is the way, the white light of order, the precision of justice. Sometimes believed to be manifest as the sun that orbits Econia, he adores Tuatha for her thoughtful manner, while wishing that she would take a stand against the destructive forces that Kartada utilizes. He cannot understand the jealousy that Kartada holds towards her older sister for being the eldest, nor can he understand why she hates him so.

Manifestations: A blinding ball of white light, a two-handed sword, a white haired young man clad in gleaming plate.

Symbol: Sun

Those who have aligned themselves with Tuatha, or who find her ways most palatable are as follows:

Redgar [M] (Red-gar)

He is the power of the earth, the strength of steel, the heat of the forge. He loves both the extraction of precious metals and gems and the processes of creating items of use and beauty out of them. A treasured few of his creations have been left to mortal hands. He is the twin of Dasta.

Manifestations: Blacksmith, often dwarven because of their skill in working the art he loves

Symbol: Gem

Dasta [F] (Dah-Stah)

She is the force of innovation, the leaping sparks of fire, the transformative power of art. She loves very little as much as the “new.” Twin to Redgar, they are known to cooperate on many projects… and sometimes to have small spats over those projects.

Manifestations: A lovely dancer dressed in red, exceptionally long hair.

Symbol: Flame

Cheverre [F] (Cheh-vferr-ruh)

She is the force of nature, the greening power of wild growing plants, the mother of wild and free animals. The beginnings out of endings all have her touch on them. If you watch the seasons in their cycle, even just the day to day weather, that is all under her purvue. She is rather hard to describe, as she is stubborn, impatient, slow to action, always moving, all at once. She and Lavinia share the green cycle, and she has also been linked with Avendes, but… so too have many others.

Manifestations: Forest hermit, dresses in green, long brown hair, often seems as if she’s one with nature in her attitude and appearance.

Symbol: Seedling

Avendes [M] (Av-EEN-dez)

He is the passage of time, the moment before, the moment now, the moment to come. He is the beginning and the ending. Avendes is not about foretelling the future or recording the past, just about having a past, a present, and a future. Avendes has a wicked sense of humor and tend to use the most horrible puns imaginable. Avendes is the most gregarious of all the gods, having, literally, all the time in the world at his fingertips. Avendes has been linked romantically with everyone from Oni herself to Cheverre, to Valeri, to Linika. He is spotted in taverns all over, and reliably shown to visit the same tavern at the same time as himself.

Manifestations: A handsome middle-aged man with a cocky grin

Symbol: Timepiece (commonly an hourglass)

Kestra [F] (KES-trah)

She is the youngest of the gods, and full of joy at each new thing. She likes new things so much that she changes old things into new. Sometimes she is with Redgar and Dasta. She loves the “touched”, the insane, for not even she can tell just what they might do next. Look out for her around artists of any sort, manifesting as a small globe of swirling light.

Manifestations: Globe of light aka Will o’ wisp, and sometimeswill appear to the insane as a beautifil lady spirit

Symbol: Shiny Penny

Those who follow the ways of Kartada, either through fear or fate.

Rhaindall [M] (rIne-DAL; hard I sound)

He is all about unleashing the negative emotions inside in devestating ways. He is the crack of lighting that kills the ancient oak, the plotter who kills, the fury of vengeance. He was with Kartada for a time, but even she grew tired of his pointlessly destructive ways. Now he roams and wanders alone, planning how best to strike at Sethaph.

Manifestations: Barbarian/berserker male, favours an axe

Symbol: Fist sized chunks of charcoal

Maefhen [F] (May-phen)

The dead who walk, the rot growing in a wound, the curruption of innocence, these are all of Maefhen. She is the Bane of the living, and a twisting of the natural cycle of life and re-birth. She follows after Rhaindall most times, for his path leaves many open to her decaying She and Cheverre (with Lavinia) are bitter enemies, standing at opposite ends of the green growing forces..

Manifestations: A white-skinned woman with pale blonde hair, any dead or undead may be her servant or messenger, even if a mortal mage summoned them.

Symbol: Skull

Caradoc [M] (kara-dock)

Hiding his presence in darkness, Caradoc is filled with rage. Kartada loves him most, for he rages that she is not given her rightful honors by everyone. He is the friend of slavers, and helps to cover their activities from any watchful eyes.

Manifestations: Black cat, young boy, usually dark-skinned and haired

Symbol: Black mask

Linika [F] (lynn-eye-ka)

She is a true loner, as not even Kartada can trust this wonderful lier. She is full of false secrets, all in the interest of throwing anything out of balance. Her cause is her own and she would betray anyone for the gain of what she desires. Thieves and Assasins tend to ask her assistance for she enjoys watching them spreading the betrayals and greed further and further.

Manifestations: Prefers a young woman, though can be anyone dressed and coloured in any way

Symbol: Hand mirror

Uclaniy [F] (You-clah-nigh)

She was once a quiet ocean filled with love and calm, following Asimonen in every way… Until she learned that he was interested only in Valeri, and not her. Then the storms broke and the waters churned. Lost love, jealousy, broken hearts, all hers to claim and with an anger not suspected before she has since been zealous in drowning anyone foolish enough.to not pay her the tribute she feels she deserves.

Manifestations: Vaguely woman shaped 20ft wave, green mist/fog

Symbol: Driftwood

Davner [M] (Dav-ner):

He is the darkness of night, hiding everything. He is the smasher, the master with a whip, the blank shadow concealing your waiting death. Davner has been aligned with Kartada since his first moments, independant, but backing her. He approves of Caradoc and Linika, but is distrustful of Uclaniy… Avendes and Davner sometimes meet for a bitter brew on moonless nights.

Manifestations: Slender bearded middle-aged man with pure black eyes.

Symbol: Whip

Asimonen’s followers and friends:

Valeri [F] (Val-ehr-ih)

She is love, but more than just love, she is the love of life, of happiness, of beauty. She loves Asimonen and is loved well in return. She loves Kestra also, and has tried healing her, for she worries about Kestra’s madness. Valeri visits Kain and Orin when Kartada gets things going too much.

Manifestations: Buxom young maid with knee-length blond hair, rain that is not wet.

Symbol: Red rose

Sethaph [F] (Seth-aff)

She is heroism and self-sacrifice, dedication to the battle, obedience to the commander to.the final degree. When she is not looking after Asimonen, she is taking care of her people, the knights, guardians, protectors, night watchmen who make it their duty to protect others. She is not known to take even a moment’s rest, always on the guard. As such, she really has no relations to the other gods, save Asimonen, for whom she acts as a personal bodyguard.

Manifestations: Six foot tall imposing woman clad in scarlet chainmail.

Symbol: Armor, gauntled fist

Lavinia [F] (Laugh-in-eye-ah) (laugh-in-ee-yah)

The endless greening cycle of life finds Lavinia at the creation of lives, and the fruition thereof. She planted the first groups and harvested the first bounty. While Oni is the great mother, Lavinia is responsible for childbirth. Kestra is her daughter, probably by Avendes, though neither are saying.

Subnote: Kestra is first child born to couple, first child not of Oni.

Manifestations: Oak tree. Slightly odd looking old woman with green hair. Midwife.

Symbol: Seed

Kain [M] (Kay-nh) (Cane)

Sitting still and thinking, planning ahead and anticipating what will happen are all a large part of what Kain is. He is also the hum of meditation, the flash of intuition, and spirit of inspiration. Kain likes to be able to think and intuit a situation to the point where he is in control. He helps with planning sessions for Asimonen, but other than thathis only contact is his friend Orin and the lovely Valeria.

Manifestations: Bald man with long flowing beard reaching to his belt.

Symbol: crude rendering of a lightening bolt

Orin [M] (Or-in)

He is the silence that beats with your heart when you stand in the middle of an ancient grove, alone, watching the dew flickering in the setting sunlight. He is the beautiful song that the birds sing as they wend their way home again. Orin is very peaceful. Simply being in his presence is calming, almost sophorific. He is not involved in the battles in anyway.

Manifestations: (?)

Symbol: (?)

Olithya [F] (Oh-lithe-yah) alt. (O-lith-ee-yah)

She is the voice of freedom, the honor of hard work, the intregrity of honest commerce. She is quite confused by the lack of merchants willing to be honest. She believes that Asimonen’s way is the best way, but thinks that violence is not the way, that hard work is the way to happiness. She too has been rumored to be partnered with Avendes

Manifestations: Pile of coins, middle aged brunette merchant of no spectacular appearence, warrior woman clad in coin-mail and wielding a pitchfork.

Symbol: A gold (what did we decide they were? Pheonix?) , a hoe, or a broken shackle

Not affiliated with the children of Oni:

Faber [M] (Fay-bear) (Fay-brrrr) (Fah-bur)

He is the father of Dragons, an awesome creature of power within himself, and aligned only with Oni, and his precious dragons. He is a laid back sorta god, friends with Avendes, who really only gets irked if his children begin fighting amonst themselves too much or if some other being declares genocide on the dragons. And woe betide those who would think to rid the world of dragons, for Faber is intense.

Manifestations: Dragon, Man with long back hair, or a pheonix on rare occasions.

Symbol: Dragon

Tiamorta [F] (Tea-yah-mort-ah) arcaic alt. (Tea-More-Tha)

She is the one who comes at the end to lead you onward. She is the reaper of souls, the gatherer of lives. She is not the judgement, she is only the one who takes you at the end. Her beauty has attracted the attentions, at various times, of Avendes, Orin, Davner, and Redgar. She chose none of them.

Subnote: She is Death, if it is not clear enough.

Manifestations: A pale cadaverous horse, a black cat with blue eyes, a beautiful and cute young woman dressed in gray, or three ravens.

Symbol: the classic scythe, a simple cross hatch (X), a pair of red lips. 1
