Midweek blahs

It figures. I fix the car heater… and tada! It warms up outside. It’s like nature decided to mock my efforts. Well, next time I see nature, I’m going to blow a raspberry at it.

  1. Get Published Episode 15 – Interview with Tina Hunter
  2. The Sofanauts No 29 – Very loud, very high levels. Heh. I felt like the Writers of the Future guy was a little too salesman slick, but it wore off after a little while and he was genuinely interesting. Another good episode.
  3. Resonance FM Wavelength – 2008 February 29th Marcel Duchamp’Ms Erratum – Very quiet, low levels. I’m not really sure what this was, but it has some mildly bad music and didn’t last long.
  4. Resonance FM Electric Sheep podcast: New approaches to Zombie cinema – Again, very low levels. It was difficult to make out what anyone was saying.
  5. The History of Rome 70- Galba and Otho – Sounds to me like Galba was one of those that is great as long as the boss is around, but as soon as he’s on his own he just starts to screw around.
  6. The Phileas Club – S4. Healthcare for dummies – The take away: healthcare is screwed up everywhere, corporations are amoral, and there is no good solution to any of the problems… but there are better solutions than the ones we are using currently.
  7. Sneak preview of WanderRadio 45: Halloween Special

Why do we do Mondays again?

  1. MSNBC Rachel Maddow (audio) – 10-13-2009-192057
  2. Wander Radio I-10 Triple Threat – Now I want a clicker too. They sound like fun.
  3. D&D Podcast October 16, 2009: Penny Arcade, PvP, Wil Wheaton: Series 3, Episode 8 – NOOOOOOooooOOOOoooo
  4. Variant Frequencies Life Insurance – I’m not sure that I liked the “message” of this story or the way it broadcast itself. You don’t have to tell me at the beginning where I am going to end up.
  5. Beware the Hairy Mango Episode 12 – The Next Vampire Story – Ha! An excellent tale that explains why it is important not to lose yourself in research.
  6. Mad Cow Books Podcast Episode #1 – The music still makes me want to dance … and the story was really odd. Like, really odd. Maybe if I knew more of Sense and Sensibility, then things would have made more sense?
  7. MSNBC Rachel Maddow (audio) – 10-14-2009-204914
  8. Resonance FM Little Atoms Peter Cave – This Sentence Is False – And would the barber cut his own beard if he refuses to cut the beards of men who cut their own beards? *brainwyrms wriggle violently*
  9. Harvey: Episode 14 – Chapter 14 – Meeks! No!
  10. PodCastle  Miniature 39: Carnival Park
  11. 20. Who is this God Person Anyway? – Lessons From A Geek Fu Master – Mur has an interesting way of ending these essays on an almost violent note. I’m finding myself stumbling, expecting more, and then realizing that, no, there was an ending and a stomping, stabbing, final sort of ending at that. I just didn’t see it coming until I was already dead.
  12. KK2.0 #4 — Your Mileage May Vary – I see what Jaffee was so delighted with. Susan and Bis make an interesting odd couple. Very bizarre sibling/lover feel to the relationship. Yeah, I meant what I said.
  13. KK2.0 #5 — Feeling Kinda Wolverine – Oh, and I have a hard time imagining Z as the bad cop. I’m terrified what I just said will piss off Bis and he’ll come stalk me and take my scalp. I mean that in the most kindly intentioned of ways, Mr. Bis. Really! … AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
  14. Dave’s Psych Classes Psychology 1106 (Fall 09) – Development 02
  15. Dave’s Psych Classes Statistics 2126 (Fall 09) – Experimental Design 02

21:11 | 30:48 | 20:26 | 10:22 of podsuming on the very very long day that is Monday.

More of those narrow-cast things

  1. StarShipSofa Aural Delights No 103 StarShipSofa Stories Volume 1 – It wasn’t the stories and articles I was expecting, but I rather enjoyed the insights and conversation. Oh, and Tony has almost sold me on getting a copy next time I have a lot of overtime at work.
  2. StarShipSofa Aural Delights No 104 Sean Williams
  3. PodCastle 074: The Firemen’s Fairy – Usually I like the stories on PodCastle. For some reason I felt irritated at the mere idea of fantasy creature firehouse mascots. *shrug* Some sort of new personality quirk for me, I guess.
  4. Buzz Out Loud  1083: MP3 is a lie – I don’t have time for the daily show anymore, but damn I missed it. I kinda misted up a little listening to the intro.
  5. 012_Liquid_Weird – Meddling in the Affairs of DragonCon Geek Media Expo and Trek Talk
  6. 001 – Liquid Weird – What is all this about
  7. 002 – Liquid Weird – Don Cthlulhione
  8. Variant Frequencies presents TITLE FIGHT: Round #7
  9. The Invisible Tour Guide Episode 6 – Dublin’s Tower of Dublin – What with my broken headphones and the squeaky voices, I wasn’t able to figure out quite a bit of the humor. I’ll try again when I have stereo.
  10. Resonance FM Art Monthly’s Talk Programme – The topic of discussion was way over my head. As in, wow.
  11. Tumbler Episode 10 – Cute reference to Mr. ADDcast – and Tumbler continues to grow.
  12. Dave’s Psych Classes Psychology 3106 (Fall 09) – Development and Organization of Behaviour
  13. Jack Mangan’s Deadpan #141: A Viable Alternative Path – That was some impressive singing for Oh, Canada.
  14. Red Black Dead EPISODE 105 – By the power of Greyskull!
  15. HP Podcraft Episode 15 – Poetry and the Gods and Celephais – More and more I see why people have continued the Cthulhu mythos. The way that places and people are referenced between stories is brilliant and I must remember to do something similiar.
  16. (BrainWyrms 007) – about 4 times. I really shouldn’t have tried to record with a stuffy nose. The bed music doesn’t do enough to cover it up, but that was the best I could think of. Also, seriously? 4 hrs to record, 8 hrs to edit – all for a one hour show? I must be doing this wrong.
