Nomad Scry – has no idea what to say about himself. I currently work in a manufacturing plant as a “technical assistant.” I really -really- love gadgets (and I have the debt to prove it.) Someday I fully intend to sit down and write a dark story about some gods, vampires, and shape-shifters… but it will be realistic. (!!)
I’ve been online since ‘92, surfing the BBSes and flying with FISHnet, FIDOnet, and my favorite, GODnet. It wasn’t till a few years later that I was on the Internet, using GOPHER and Ytalk. I still remember the first time my Pa logged in from home and did not open a terminal window. Instead, he ran Netscape Navigator and there… were… pictures!
My programming skills are pretty pathetic, considering the years I’ve been vaguely studying. I started in BASIC on a C64 when I was not yet a “Tween”. Since then I’ve dabbled in Pascal (on a Apple II with a broken compiler), C, Java, JavaScript, PHP, and C++. One day I’ll even understand why people are still enamored with Java. Nah, that’ll never happen.
There’s more to me than that, but it’s all as scatter-shot as can be. I am the ‘jack of all trades, master of none’ incarnate.

A few notes about my handle: I am hesitant to give out my real world name for a number of reasons both paranoid and not. To reduce it to the most simplistic form, I have been using the name Nomad Scry for longer than I have had my current legal name. And I am contemplating legally changing my name again. So, just for continuity’s sake, sticking with the tried and true makes a lot of sense.
