Pride
The best advice I can give you is this: don’t be like me. This is not the world of the generalist, the jack of all trades. This is the world of the specialist. You don’t even need to be very good at it, as long as you are specialized. Pick something, anything, and stick with it. Ignore everything else and do it. Also, this myth that they teach children, the one that says you can do anything, be anything you want, is a myth. You can only be one thing. You are not royalty and you do not deserve everything on a platter. What you deserve is what you have earned. And when you have earned it, then it is something you can be proud of. And something to be honestly proud of is… well, in my opinion, that’s what it is all about.
