Work was bloody ridiculous today. It took about 7 hours to get a machine running, which is bad enough. To make it worse, I don’t know what I did that worked. Or which combination of things worked. Or, quite frankly, if I actually succeeded in fixing the machine. It was running when I left, but… Gah.
I think was bothers me most, besides having multiple calls at the same time, is that I followed proper trouble shooting procedure and (for once) only tried one thing at a time. And yet, I still don’t know why the machine was malfunctioning or why it stopped.
I took one break in the middle of the shift because my head was getting ready to explode. Other than that, I got to sit down for … no time. Even in the odd moments between working on the main problem, I had calls to deal with on the other lines. Thankfully, most of them didn’t take more than twenty minutes here and there.
I have already declared today the worst day of work in 2009. I very much hope this record stands for the rest of the year.
