I’ve been playing around with a variety of different themes lately. I’m trying to find a nice magazine style to use, and so far I have found a few nice ones. Except that they all seem to either have some piece that doesn’t fit my usage style or they seem to require a manual and a dozen plugins.
The real problem, though, is the amount of customizing that I’ve done to the current theme, Copyblogger theme design by Chris Pearson. Trying to remember all the stuff I’ve done so that I can pull it out and it into the new theme is causing even more hairs to turn gray. This poor theme. I’ve even changed the permanent link style on it. Wow, that sure choked things up for me. Heh.
So far my favorite is probably, Gridblog. Or maybe Zinmag. I think I’ll probably go with Gridblog for a while. It is a lot simpler to setup than ZinMag.
I guess, basically, I’m asking anyone unfortunate enough to be visiting the site while I’m switching themes to have a little patience until I get thinks going smoothly again. Because this is looking like it will take a month. lesigh

Looks like Gridblog may be full of fail. I’ve already had to edit the “sidebars” to actually work for displaying widgets. And I’m still not getting snippets displayed on the front page. I’ll see if I can hack it some more, but I wasn’t looking for this kind of work.

And now… I’ve hacked Gridblog to actually show the contents of the posts on the front page. I would still like it to show snippets the way the screen shot shows…
I don’t use WordPress because I wanted to hack it. I use it because I don’t have TIME to hack it. Grrr.
