To quote Readernaut’s description of themselves:
Readernaut aims to be the best book sharing site on the internet.
Our website is made with
which is built with
. We’re running
while
keeps track of our dataz.
is proxying to
where Mod_WSGI does its magic on our server at
.
is our source for book information and
rocks!
Pretty spiffy, huh? That reads to me like a group of geeks bordering on nerdhood who haven’t figured out that it is not the Legos that are cool, but the things that you build with them. Then again, that describes me too.
Readernaut is in a closed beta right now. I got in a few weeks back and I haven’t really spent the time with the site that I should, but the short news is that it looks rough but good. The hard part will be in building a distinctive feature set from GoodReads, Shelfari, and LibraryThing.
So far, that stand out feature for Readernaut for me is the progress bar for books that are currently being read. It is a very simple thing (though currently a little hard to use) but it makes for a difference.
Stop by and check out my profile on Readernaut and if you are also in the beta, feel me up. I mean, uh, friend me up.
